On October 29, the Association of Russian Speaking Intersex People, with the support of the Initiative Group “Coming Out”, held the first training in Russia for lawyers on the human rights of intersex people. The event was attended by 10 lawyers and law students from 8 cities of Russia. The training included consideration of such issues as the biological and social nature of intersex variations, the communicative aspects of working with intersex people, the consolidation of intersex people in international and national human rights law, as well as legal strategies for dealing with their violations at the national level. The participants of the training thank the organizers and expressed a desire to conduct a re-training for a longer time.
