On June 29-30, Ilia, a lawyer of the Association of Russian Speaking Intersex attended the conference “Human Rights and Biomedicine. Informed Consent: Ethical and Legal Aspects” and the Seminar as part of the preparation of the first HELP course on human rights in biomedicine. The events were organized by the Council of Europe Bioethics Division and the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation. At the conference, participants discussed the basics of the principle of informed voluntary consent, which are often violated regarding intersex children and their parents, and the seminar outlined the possibilities for ARSI and other actors to participate in the process of developing a training course for lawyers and medical workers as part of the HELP program
