As part of the QueerFest festival, Olga, an intersex member of the Association of Russian Speaking Intersex People (ARSI), shared her story and answered questions from the audience.

“She talked about her life’s path with a smile, joked a lot, and the audience laughed with her. But how much pain was experienced in this story! I can’t even imagine how people deal with such an experience. They have to leave everything behind of the world, learn to trust yourself and accept yourself when everything around – from family and friends to doctors and teachers – tells them that they are wrong and “must be corrected,” Olga openly shares her experience, helping other intersex people to become who they are themselves”
