After a months-long battle with Kazakh authorities, our client managed to obtain a new birth certificate for her intersex child that reflects his gender identity. During the initial examination, the doctors misdiagnosed the child and therefore registered him in the female legal gender. Currently, the diagnosis is correct, and the child has a male gender identity and identifies as a boy. Our Association provided psychological and legal support to the mother in connection with the situation. As a result, after another petition, the happy mother finally managed to change the baby’s documents.
