Does your child have unusual sex characteristics? Why is my child different? How to talk about it? What have we done wrong? How to tell the family? These and many other questions parents of children with variations of sex development (intersex children) ask themselves from the first days of the baby’s life. Today, on Intersex Awareness Day, we would like to present our new manual “My intersex child” which was created to help parents of children with variations of sex development to navigate in an unusual situation. The manual contains information about intersex variations, different approaches to these features, guidance on raising an intersex child, as well as legal tactics for solving some possible problems. We included in the manual the personal experience of parents of intersex children, as well as the advice of adult intersex people to each and everyone who was chosen by nature to obtain a unique experience of parenting an intersex child.
